Grace Pt. 4 Romans 5:17
For if by one man’s offence, death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (KJV)
If death ruled because of one person’s failure, those who receive the multiplied grace and the gift of righteousness will even more certainly rule in life through the one person Jesus Christ. (Common English)
Death ruled like a king because Adam had sinned. But that cannot compare with what Jesus Christ has done. God has been so kind to us, and he has accepted us because of Jesus. And so we will live and rule like kings. (Contemporary English)
For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). (Amplified)
[L For if] One man’s ·sin [violation; transgression] caused death to ·rule over all people [L reign; rule] because of that one man. How much more, then, will those people who ·accept [receive] ·God’s full grace [L the abundance of grace] and the great gift of ·being made right with him [righteousness] ·have true life and rule [or rule in the future life; L reign/rule in life] through the one man, Jesus Christ. [C Just as death “ruled” in Adam, so believers “rule” over death through Christ.] (Expanded)
It is certain that death ruled because of one person’s failure. It’s even more certain that those who receive God’s overflowing kindness and the gift of his approval will rule in life because of one person, Jesus Christ. (God’s Word)
15-17 Yet the rescuing gift is not exactly parallel to the death-dealing sin. If one man’s sin put crowds of people at the dead-end abyss of separation from God, just think what God’s gift poured through one man, Jesus Christ, will do! There’s no comparison between that death-dealing sin and this generous, life-giving gift. The verdict on that one sin was the death sentence; the verdict on the many sins that followed was this wonderful life sentence. If death got the upper hand through one man’s wrongdoing, can you imagine the breathtaking recovery life makes, sovereign life, in those who grasp with both hands this wildly extravagant life-gift, this grand setting-everything-right, that the one man Jesus Christ provides? (Message)
The power of death was over all men because of the sin of one man, Adam. But many people will receive His loving-favor and the gift of being made right with God. They will have power in life by Jesus Christ. (New Life Version)
For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. (New Living)
If one man’s sin brought a reign of death—that’s Adam’s legacy—how much more will those who receive grace in abundance and the free gift of redeeming justice reign in life by means of one other man—Jesus the Anointed. (The Voice)
For if by the offence of the one the death did reign through the one, much more those, who the abundance of the grace and of the free gift of the righteousness are receiving, in life shall reign through the one — Jesus Christ. (Young’s)
For if, through the transgression of the one individual, Death made use of the one individual to seize the sovereignty, all the more shall those who receive God’s overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign as kings in Life through the one individual, Jesus Christ. (Weymouth)
If because of one man’s disobedient act, death became king through that one man, how much more, then, will life, through the one Man Jesus Christ, be king over those who accept his bounty of grace and his gift of goodness. (Jordan)
….all the more will those who receive God’s overflowing mercy and gift of uprightness live and reign through the one individual, Jesus Christ. (Goodspeed)

Summing it up:
Death (spiritual resulting in sin, sickness, disease and physical death) ruled like a king because of Adam’s sin.
God’s rescuing Gift is not parallel (on the same level) as the death-dealing sin.
There is no comparison between that sin and the Life that has been poured out through the one man, Jesus Christ.
Greater is God’s overflowing grace and His gift of righteousness, far greater than Adam’s sin which resulted in death.
When you receive this bounty of grace and the free gift of redeeming justice, you can reign/rule over death-dealing sin and its results now, and in the world to come forever.
Life from Christ poured into you and lived out results in Life in life.
Grace brought grace.
Grace brought salvation.
Grace brought Justification.
Grace brought and brings Life.
Grace brings the ability to rule as a king over sin and its effects.
…….much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
Grace will enable you to live out the reign of righteousness in this life.
How does a king reign? With a ‘yea’ and a ‘nay’.
Say ‘yea’ to God.
Say ‘nay’ to the Devil.
Keep it simple saints.
