“The Recreated Treasure”
I must state again: I never tire of looking at this picture. It illustrates a great truth.
Take a few moments and let it burn into your mind so the Holy Spirit can bring it back to you as needed.
The Apostle Paul, in 2 Corinthians 4:6&7:
“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ….but we have this treasure (this light) in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us.”
The earthen vessel: your body.
The ‘treasure’: your recreated spirit.
Everyone will exist forever.
Spirits are eternal.
In the Christian, the spirit has become a “Recreated Treasure”….
Here are some various renderings of 2 Corinthians 5:17….feed on them and think about the ‘new you’, the Recreated Treasure inside your earthen body:
King James Bible
Therefore if any man (person) be in Christ, he is a new creature:
old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
and-look!-all things have become new!
A new way of living has come into existence.
Weymouth New Testament
So that if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old state of things has passed away;
a new state of things has come into existence.
Therefore if any person is [ingrafted
] in Christ (the Messiah),
he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition]
has passed away.
Behold, the fresh and new has come
Now we look inside, and what we see is that
anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new.
The old life is gone;
a new life burgeons! Look at it!
(Burgeons: To put forth new buds, leaves, or greenery; sprout; to begin to grow or blossom.)
Years ago, there was a Broadway musical and in it was a song: “Getting to know you, getting to know all about you….getting to like you, getting to hope you like me.” It came from “The King and I”. Here are some other words:
“Getting to know you,
Getting to feel free and easy
When I am with you,
Getting to know what to say
Haven’t you noticed
Suddenly I’m bright and breezy?
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I’m learning about you
Day .. by … day.”
Getting to know “YOU”…..the Recreated Treasure,
is the greatest favor you can do for yourself.
Paul said in Philemon 6, that your faith becomes energized as
‘you acknowledge every good thing that is IN you’
because you are in Christ and He is in you.
Listing the words highlighted above makes an interesting read:
a new state of things has come into existence
ingrafted in, united (to Christ Jesus)
the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away.
Behold, the fresh and new has come!
a fresh start,
Getting to know you, getting to know all about you….(the Recreated Treasure in you)
getting to like you….the New You (the NEW YOU already likes you!)
Getting to feel free and easy when I’m with you, (getting comfortable with the New Creation Life Style)
Getting to know what to say.(learning to speak “New Creation” words)
Suddenly I’m bright and breezy,
all the beautiful and new things I’m learning about you….day by day.
(learning all these wonderful things about the NEW YOU,
will result in a joy that is unspeakable and full of glory).
Just to clarify something here…..I’m not into ‘self’ glorification.
I’m into “Jesus-glorification”.
HE is the new creation in you.
HE is the Recreated Treasure.
HE is the ‘treasure in earthen vessels’.
What HE is makes up the wonderful, new things about YOU.
As we get deeper into this subject, you will find that,
“New Creation Information”
In closing this post, I have to include a comment to my last post on this subject by my dear friend, Sadona, we have been studying and discussing the new creation for many years now. She said a wonderful thing that ignited in me another New Way of looking at the New Me:
“I love getting to know this New Creation in me.
It’s sort of like having a life long friend whom you spend intimate time with through out each day,
and as you do you discover something new about both your friend and yourself.
It has become the most meaningful relationship in my life,
one that always creates in me a sense of confidence and peace.”
when you fellowship with your New Creation,
you are fellowshiping with Jesus.
